| Lately I've been trying to use up some of the many scraps that I have. I first decided to work on the green scraps that I had and see what I could make with them. I started with 2 2-gallon bags that were about half full, and a mostly full (but not packed) 1-gallon bag. I cut squares, made lots of string pieced blocks and strips, and still left a 2-gallon bag that was about a third full for use in applique or other quilts. I added in some orphan half-square blocks to the green scraps to make two of the quilts below. All total I ended up with either 11 or 12 quilt tops from the green scraps that I worked with. And I still have the lime green scraps yet to play with. =) I've put pictures of 10 of the quilts below for anyone who would like ideas on what might be done with lots of scraps in one color. | |
