Finishing Finishing the Mystery Wallhanging

Cutting the Sashing

Cut the following sashing strips:
Sashing A - cut 2 Pieces - 1" by 5 1/2"
Sashing B - cut 2 Pieces - 1" by 11"
Sashing C - cut 3 Pieces - 1" by 16"
Sashing D - cut 2 Pieces - 1" by 18"
(Note: the lengths are a little larger than needed so that you shouldn't have any problems with them.)

Part 1:
Sew one piece of sashing A to the right side of block 3 and the left side of block 4. Sew one piece of sashing B to the top of this two block section. Sew the bottom of block 6 to the top of this set of blocks.

Part 2:
Sew one piece of sashing B to the right side of this three block combination. Sew the left hand side of block 2 to the sashing strip that you just attached. Set aside for the moment.

Sew the second piece of sashing A to the right side of block 1 and the left side of block 5. Sew one piece of sashing C to the top of this two block combination. Sew this combined sashing and block section to the bottom of the section made in Part 1.

Part 3:
Sew the remaining two pieces of sashing C to the top and bottom of the wallhanging. Sew the two pieces of sashing D to the right and left sides of the wallhanging.

Final Border
Cut your final border strips in the width that you wish them to be (I used a 3" final border for the wallhanging) and sew them on.
